Taking out the trash!

Oh .... that garbage stinks! Its stinking up the whole house please remove it. Ever been in this situation? Or maybe there's that smell in the fridge that you just can't seem to find and it is making everything stink. When you finally find it and rid the fridge of it you feel so much better, the embaracement of that smell is gone.
I find this to be true in our lives, sometimes there's that pesky smell that follows us and until we rid ourselves of it we wear a mask. It's not me we say, trying to mask the smell. These smells come up every day of our lives and if we are not willing to face them head on they will just get worse, pretty soon nobody will want to hang around us because our trash stinks too much. I'm no better then you, I covered up a stink in my life for way too long, when the truth was revealed it got messy, kinda like a trash bag that bursts because it is to full. I let the mess be seen by everyone, then I began the slow process of picking it up and throwing it away for good. Most of the people who saw my mess looked the other way and told me to deal with it on my own, but there were a few who said let me help you with that mess its too big to deal with on your own. I can't thank those people enough.! There's still bits and pieces of the mess that needs to be picked up and thrown away, but for the most part its been dealt with. Its almost been 2 years of picking up and putting things back together ... now I can move on to the next stage of my life! I no longer hide my trash, I keep it out in the open and try to deal with it in a timely fashion, if you get my drift!
Remember that even if nobody else is on your side when you are getting rid of a mess in your life, God is!

The rough long road

Ever traveled down a rough road in which you thought would never end? You bump along feeling every rut, every large rock that comes in the way of the tires. When you finally reach the end of the road you feel great relief knowing that you succeeded because you pushed through.
There are rough long roads in life too, ones that feel like they will never end. I was on one of those roads ... It was stressful and full of ruts. It took me standing of for myself to get off that rough long road. Standing up for myself came with a lot of pain, a lot of unknowns, a lot of loss... But in the end I found myself. There was always the fear of failing along the way, or not completing what I had set out to do. I have to thank those who have been by my on this rough road. I find myself wandering back down that road from time to time. The wrongs that happened on that road will haunt me for the rest of my life, but the peace I have found from my journey is immeasurable.
When life gives you rough roads don't let them destroy you, instead ride them out and grow from them and teach others how to get down it. There is happiness at the end! There is peace too!
